Beshbarmag Sanctuary

One of the most remarkable natural monuments in the Khizi district is the uniquely shaped Beshbarmag Mountain. Located along an ancient caravan route, this extraordinary rock formation resembles a massive stone hand stretched out in a striking and somewhat mysterious manner. Its unusual contours captivate travelers from afar, which is why the mountain is called “Beshbarmag,” meaning “Five Fingers.”

Numerous legends and traditions are associated with this mountain. According to one legend, the Prophet Khidr visited this place. At the very summit of the mountain, among the rocks, there is the sacred shrine known as “Khidirzinda” (“Immortal Khidr”).

Nearby, there is also the Beshbarmag Tower, built in the mid-8th century, which further enhances the historical and spiritual significance of this site.
