The Mirmovsum Agha Shrine is located in the Shuvalan settlement of the city of Baku. The real name of this revered figure was Mirmohsum Agha Mirabutalib oghlu Mirmovsumzadeh. The lineage of his father, Mirabutalib, is traced back to the Seventh Imam, Imam Musa al-Kazim (peace be upon him). His ancestors were born in Karbala. In the late 19th century, Mirabutalib Agha migrated to Azerbaijan. He had three sons and three daughters.
Mirmovsum Agha, one of his sons, was born in 1883 in Icherisheher (the Old City of Baku). Due to his illness, his sister Goncha-Sakina Khanum never married and devoted her entire life to caring for her brother. Unable to endure the loss of his sister, Mirmovsum Agha passed away shortly after her death, in 1950.
Today, the Mirmovsum Agha Shrine, which has become one of the most magnificent pilgrimage sites, is regarded as one of the most sacred places where pilgrims seek refuge and spiritual solace.
